J.F. & Pris sketch

a BLADERUNNER inspired sketch

J.F. Sebastian
(William Sanderson) was a very talented, lonely and, as it turns out, unlucky genetic designer for the Tyrell Corporation.  When he discovers Pris (Daryl Hannah), a Nexus 6 'pleasure model', sleeping on his doorstep, he naively welcomes her into his fantastic home workshop. However, Roy Batty soon arrives and J.F. is easily manipulated by the two replicants.

Leon Kowalski sketch

a BLADERUNNER inspired sketch

Leon Kowalski was one of the Tyrel Corporation's laborer/soldier Nexus 6 replicants. Although he possessed only a 'C level' mentality, Leon knew better than to attempt re-entering his apartment with police spinners circling in the street. The memorable character was portrayed by American actor Brion James.

Zhora sketch

a BLADE RUNNER inspired sketch

One early version of the Blade Runner script had Zhora's exotic dance in
the Taffey Lewis Snake Pit Bar as a major musical set piece, lasting minutes. However, the costly extensive scene was ruled out in favor of Deckard's (Harrison Ford) incredulous but subtle reaction and the off camera performance was left the the viewer's imaination.  The snake in the movie was actually actress, Joanna Cassidy's own pet snake.

Roy Batty sketch

a BLADE RUNNER inspired sketch

Dangerous Days: the making of Blade Runner is an exceptionally well produced documentary film which clearly presents the epic struggles that can be involved in making an ambitious, large scale film. It was made in 2008, features up to date interviews with most of the cast & crew, includes much deleted footage and reveals some very surprising background information. It is available in the two disk set of BLADE RUNNER; The Final Cut.  I highly recommend this documentary to anyone interested in film making. I'll post this sketch again when it's completed.

the Black Burned Sky

This is a title page design for the Black Burned Sky, a kids book/graphic novel I have been developing for a while. There has been some new interest recently expressed in the project so I will be posting a few sketches in progress.

Shooting Boards

Saving Dinah

Here is a segment of an illustrated screenplay for a new film in preproduction.
I usually execute 'grey scale' frames like these with HB pencils, black Prismacolour pencils and black ball point pens; then I add Photoshop tinting and contrast..

Farmall 'A' tractor

Farmall 'A' tractor

This was our first tractor, a McCormick Farmall 'A'.  It has now been completely
restored and on display in the
Osgoode Township Historical Society Museum in the Ottawa Valley. A full colour photo album of the McEvoy farm can be seen at http://www.mcevoyfarm.com/

Greenmantle Farm

Greenmantle Farm

Here is a wonderful aerial photograph of the dairy farm in the Ottawa Valley

where I grew up
. We always had about 24 purebred Holstein cows and about
24 'young cattle'. The entire operation was only 100 acres. I will post a few
more farm images.
